In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, businesses across various sectors are scrambling to adjust their operations to meet new safety and health guidelines. Station Casinos, a prominent division of Red Rock Resorts, is no exception. The company recently announced a comprehensive series of operational changes aimed at aligning its services with the stringent guidelines set forth by Governor Steve Sisolak of Nevada.

Station Casinos implemented a rigorous health and safety plan including mandatory face coverings for guests, regular COVID-19 testing for employees, thermal scanning at entrances, use of PPE, and enhanced cleaning protocols using hospital-grade disinfectants and electrostatic sprayers, all designed to meet or exceed federal, state, and local health guidelines as of mid-2020.

Enhanced Safety Measures and Reduced Capacity

To ensure the well-being of both guests and employees, Station Casinos has implemented an extensive cleaning regime. This includes the sanitization of all slot machines every two hours, a measure designed to curb the spread of the virus. Additionally, to comply with social distancing protocols, the company has limited the number of players at table games to three and halved the seating capacity in their bingo and keno lounges.

But the adjustments don’t stop there. Station Casinos is also altering its food service operations by increasing staff at buffets to serve guests directly, thereby minimizing contact points. Similar reductions in capacity have been applied to meeting, convention, entertainment, and bar venues, all of which now operate at 50% capacity to ensure adequate social distancing.

The Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch spas and salons will see a reduction in operating days and hours. This operational overhaul comes in response to Governor Sisolak’s new guidelines for casinos amidst the pandemic. While some resorts and casinos, like Wynn Resorts and MGM Resorts International, have opted for temporary closures, Station Casinos, along with Boyd Gaming and Caesars Entertainment, have chosen to remain open, albeit with significant adjustments.
