High 5 Games has reached a settlement with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, allowing the company to resume its online gaming operations in the state. The settlement comes after months of legal challenges following allegations of illegal gambling violations.

Under the terms of the agreement, High 5 Games will pay a fine of nearly $1.5 million and discontinue its High 5 Casino platform across Connecticut. The company’s online gaming service provider license has been reinstated, effective immediately.

The settlement does not constitute an admission of liability on the part of High 5 Games. The company has agreed to implement various remedial measures, including blocking users physically located in Connecticut and prohibiting the use of VPNs or proxies to access the High 5 Casino platform.

The case highlights the ongoing debate surrounding sweepstakes casinos and their legality in various states. High 5 Games, a licensed supplier in Connecticut, had been operating an unlicensed sweepstakes platform, leading to the regulatory action taken by the DCP.

The settlement marks a step towards resolving the legal issues faced by High 5 Games in Connecticut and reinforces the importance of complying with state gaming regulations to ensure a fair and legal gaming market.
