Fennica Gaming secures prestigious license from UAE gaming authority, paving the way for innovative GaaS offerings in the regulated market.
In a groundbreaking move for the iGaming industry, Fennica Gaming has secured a coveted licence from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the United Arab Emirates. This prestigious approval allows the Veikkaus subsidiary to offer its cutting-edge “games as a service” (GaaS) within the UAE’s regulated gaming market.
With this latest licence in hand, Fennica Gaming joins an exclusive group of online suppliers authorized by the GCGRA, including industry giants Aristocrat and EQL Games. The company’s comprehensive GaaS offering encompasses a wide array of online casino content, ranging from popular slots and video poker to instant-win titles.
Fennica Gaming’s Managing Director, Timo Kiiskinen, expressed excitement at the opportunity to enter the dynamic UAE market and contribute to its rapidly evolving regulated gaming sector. The company’s successful licensing in key markets such as the UK, Sweden, and the Netherlands further underscores its commitment to global expansion and innovation in the iGaming space.
The GCGRA’s recent spate of approvals, including Fennica Gaming, Scientific Games, and Random State, reflects the growing momentum of the UAE’s gaming industry. With a total of 10 licensed suppliers now authorized to operate within the country, the regulatory authority continues to shape the landscape of gambling, national lottery, and commercial gaming in the region.
Notably, the GCGRA’s significant milestones include awarding the nation’s only lottery licence to The Game LLC in 2024 and granting Wynn Resorts the UAE’s first commercial land-based casino gaming licence. The upcoming Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort project in Ras Al Khaimah is poised to redefine luxury gaming experiences in the region upon its anticipated opening in Q1 2027.
As Fennica Gaming and other approved vendors pave the way for innovation and growth in the UAE’s gaming sector, the industry’s future looks brighter than ever. Stay tuned for more developments as the UAE’s regulated gaming market continues to flourish under the guidance of the GCGRA.
